As part of its spaces, Hines designated an important area within its building for recreation and exercise where all its tenants can enjoy its facilities.
We had the opportunity to manage with ORCA PoE devices, 3600 watts of power in lighting, connecting them to an existing BMS of the Schneider brand. Approximately 52 orca devices were installed to illuminate, monitor and control specially designed luminaires.
It is important to highlight that in the locker rooms we placed Orca PoE nodes, which energize and control UVC (infrared light) luminaires whose purpose is to disinfect common surfaces in contact with people in bathrooms, showers and locker rooms. These sequences are controlled by schedule and motion sensors are used to verify that the ignitions are safe and without people inside.
With this project, Hines achieved savings in the cost of investment and operation, as well as control of operating sequences where you can combine the sensors of the system that connects and communicates the Orca solution with the other subsystems connected to your BMS, such as HVAC, access control and alarm. For example, it is possible to detect movement at unusual or permitted times with lighting sensors or switches and send alert signals to the alarm system, generate "heat" maps to manage the most used spaces at different times, complement the sequences of HVAC combining them with the verification of the use of the space by its users, among other opportunities that can be developed with a lower investment cost.
